Song 1: Turning Over Tables

Verse 1
Fear runs deep spreading like a virus
Hate is cheap from afar it costs you nothing
Sister take my hand brother we will stand
Open up your heart and find

Chorus
Love is turning over tables breaking off chains
When I see you in the stranger I’m no longer a slave
Turning over tables tearing down walls
Building up the bridges between us all

Verse 2
Let courage be my willingness to listen
So I can feel the wound inside my heart
Let seeds of peace grow in hearts around us
That trees of hope bring shade to all mankind
You can take my hand together we will stand
Open up your heart and find

Bridge
When will we stand for love x3
None can separate all that love has made
We are ev’ryone the same
We refuse to be our brother’s enemy
We will stand for all mankind

Reading: Caged Bird – Maya Angelou

A free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wing
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.

Song 2: The Medicine

Verse 1
There’s a sickness here that threatens to divide us
And we’re all afraid to say its name out loud
But, Lord, I know that you can heal us of this virus
So, we need you, we need you right now

There’s a darkness here that’s dangerous and aggressive
Its getting harder every day to shake its power
But, Lord, I know that you can free us from oppression
So, we need you, we need you right now

Chorus
Cause we don’t know what to do
So, we turn our eyes to you
We’ve run out of words to say
But if you come and have your way
You can save us from ourselvеs
Before our wounds hurt someonе else
We need you now

Verse 2
What does it mean to have compassion for another?
How can I claim to love a God that I can’t see?
If I can find the will to harm and kill my brother
Cause he neglected to look like me

I can speak the words of men and songs of angels
I can give all my possessions to the poor
But if your love can’t move the mountain of my hatred
Somehow, I missed you, and I need you so much more

Chorus

We need you now x4

Like a mighty river floods out of control

Let justice, let justice roll
Let justice roll

I wanna see the day when love shakes the ground
And the walls that separate come tumbling down

Chorus
May that day be today when together we say
Let love, love shake the ground
Love shake the ground

Verse 3
I wanna see the day when we stand tall
And the heavy hand of oppression′s finally gone

Chorus
May that day be today when together we say
Precious Lord, come lead us on
Come lead us on
Precious Lord, come lead us on
Come lead us on
May that day be today when together we say
Precious Lord, come lead us on
